Description

Searching for 2nd Engineer candidates, the candidates needs to hold previous experience from Offshore vessels.

Tasks

The 2nd Engineer's responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:

Monitoring and maintenance of all machinery

To participate in the general planning of maintenance and operations related to the vessel’s machinery, machinery equipment, and all tools onboard the vessel

To control the implementation of general plans within his/her field

To deputise for the Chief Engineer when necessary

To assist in implementing of safety policies and practices

To keep and update spare parts used/ordered/received in the vessels Computerised maintenance system.

Ordering spare parts in co-operation and agreement with the Chief Engineer.

Own and fellow crew members safety including use of proper PPE

All officers has a special responsibility to support the implementation of company policies, the company safety / QHSE system and in general the the company standards regarding health, safety, quality and environment.

Routines

He is responsible to keep engine room logs during the watch.

2nd Engineer is also responsible for the following:

To assist with planned maintenance, system documentation, and budgeting

To ensure that all safety requirements are met during maintenance

To carry out instructional duties as required

To familiarise him/her self with equipment in all areas

To perform watch duties in ECR

To update himself within his / her field

To perform routines according to the PREMAS, and update the PREMAS

To prepare a list when spare parts are used. Any ordering of spare parts is to be approved and signed by the Chief Engineer

Watch duties

The 2nd Engineer is responsible for monitoring of all machinery onboard the vessel from day-to-day.

Any fault to be reported to Chief Engineer, and after work orders are given, rectify problem at once.

Work Permit to be issued by Chief Engineer before staring of any work which require a Work Permit.

If there is any doubt related to safety or function, Chief Engineer to be called and bridge notified if found necessary.

He / She is also responsible that all repairs and happenings are noted in the Engine Room log-book.

The 2nd Engineer shall assist during bunkering operations.

The 2nd Engineer is responsible to keep the Engine room and other areas, which is included in the Engine Department, clean and tidy. All oil spills etc. shall be cleaned as soon as possible.

Emergency duties

The 2nd Engineer shall participate in any emergency duties according to the vessel Muster Plan, the Shipboard Contingency Plan and Masters Instructions.

Security duties:

The 2nd Engineer shall perform security duties according to vessel Ship Security Plan, the Shipboard Contingency Plan and Masters Instructions.

Qualifications

2nd Engineer COC (STWC A-III/2)

Safety training officers STCW

Medical certificate

Security duties CoP (ISPS/Sjøfolk med særlige sikringsplikter)

Terms

Salary and contract agreement in accordance to NOR service agreement.
